There is freedom in giving new purpose to old and dead things... I never realized what was possible until I started looking at the ground, in closets, in abandoned boiler rooms, and in dumpsters. I found life by looking where it left imprints, echoes, and residue.

In my work, I thrive on creative reuse of accessible materials, generating images and objects which reflect my experience as a lifelong city dweller. Elements like found wood, tchotchkes, and discarded newspaper inform the physicality of my resources to form symbols- like flowers, skulls, birds, and roaches- as part of a narrative connection to my environment. These materials serve to help me explore my own psyche as it relates to the subjects of nature, life, death, and my own scale relative to the world– something which is amplified by the mid/post-pandemic landscape we find ourselves in today.
