Artist + Illustrator + Whatever.
I am a New York-based multidisciplinary artist whose work moves between sculpture, painting, illustration, and prop making, using found, traditional, and industrial materials to explore ideas through both image and object. I am driven by storytelling, creative problem solving, and a curiosity about how materials can shape an idea as much as an idea can shape a material. Across my work, I return to themes of mortality, duality, nature, humor, and the contradictions of human experience, often allowing seemingly opposing ideas to exist side by side. My years working in film and television as a prop maker and prop master have expanded my understanding of fabrication, materials, tools, and process, continually informing the way I make art. Whether building a sculpture, developing an illustration, or constructing something for a story, I am interested in the same fundamental question: what happens when an idea becomes a physical thing?
